Cooking 1.0.1: Mango Lassi (Day 35)

Four years ago in Victoria, British Columbia, I had my first Mango Lassi at the Bengal Lounge. Designed to battle the intense heat that comes from Indian food, mango lassi's are a sweet and creamy concoction of mango, yogurt, and spices that are blended to a cool perfection with a texture that is somewhere between a margarita and a smoothie. While I usually treat myself to ones from Bombay Bowl, last week I decided to whip up my own version. Instead of looking up a recipe I decided to use my past smoothie knowledge and wing it. It took me awhile to track down some mangos but it was well worth the effort. My only regret is that I didnt have some delicious potato stuffed nan and chicken tikka masala to go with it. Well, that and the fact that I drank it down so fast I didnt have time to photograph it, hahah.

Ingredients and Preparation
  • 3/4 a cup chopped mango
  • 1 cup vanilla greek yogurt
  • 4 ice cubes
  • 1/2 tea spoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon agave nectar
  • Combine, Blend, and enjoy!
