Just like the kale and banana smoothie , this peanut butter one took a bit of trial and error. I was looking for a smoothie that both kept me full and satisfied my craving for peanut butter but that was also low in fat and sugar. After viewing several recipes online, I started out by buying agave nectar, oatmeal, whey protein, peanut butter, kefir, unsweetened almond milk, plain greek yogurt, honey greek yogurt, bananas, and almonds. The best thing about this smoothie is that you can really mess around with the ingredients you add without really sacrificing quality so everyone is able to find their perfect smoothie. After four tries I found my winning combination that sweet yet savory and gave me energy to boot!
Ingredients and Preparation
- One banana, sliced (this can also be frozen)
- One cup unsweetened Kefir (you can also use any type of yogurt or milk)
- One pack Truvia (you can also use a tablespoon of honey or agave)
- One Tablespoon peanut butter
- One half a scoop vanilla whey protein (optional)
- One tablespoon sliced almonds (you can also use dry oats)
- Four ice cubes (if using a frozen banana, omit this part)
- Add ingredients into a blender, blend till smooth but still thick.
